00:00More than 500 artists from over 80 galleries across 35 countries are showcasing their artworks

00:20during the Art Dubai exhibition at Madinat Jumeirah.

00:23The 8th edition of the International Art Fair is part of the Emirates' inaugural Dubai

00:27Arts Season, launched by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, that runs from March 14

00:32until April 15.

00:34Dubai Arts Season highlights emerging artists, providing them a platform to engage with the

00:39community through culturally enriching events such as Art Dubai.

00:42I think Art Dubai is great because it brings a lot of art world sort of journalists and

00:46artists, curators to Dubai and they get access to a lot of the galleries who are working

00:51here and a lot of the initiatives that are going on in Dubai and I think it's a really

00:54eye-opening experience for people who've never been here before, especially in terms

00:59of coming here for art in particular, so it's become a real hub for the region actually.

01:04Over the past seven years, Art Dubai has become a cornerstone of the region's booming contemporary

01:10art community, recognized as one of the most globalized meeting points in the art world today.

01:15Art Dubai places an emphasis on maintaining its intimate, human scale while foregrounding

01:20quality and diversity.

01:22This year's edition includes galleries presented in three distinct programs – Contemporary,

01:27Modern and Marker.

01:29It has launched a new gallery program dedicated to Middle Eastern and South Asian modern art

01:34from the 20th century.

01:35It's quite exciting to be surrounded by big galleries, by big artists and in a serious

01:43project like this one.

01:44To me, it'd be cool to see more street art in Dubai.

01:46The authorities are more open to street art, so it'd be really cool to see street art

01:52coming up in Dubai in the next year.

01:56A number of programs for children are also available, including the Sheikha Mana Lil

02:00Artists Program, which includes tours and workshops.

02:03Art Dubai's theme, meanwhile, history, reflects on significant decades, years and minutes

02:10that brought shifts in understanding of the world and history within the Middle East and

02:15the Caucasus region.
