00:00Art Dubai, the flagship event of the Dubai Art Season, welcomed a variety of artists

00:09and exhibitors from all over the world and premiered a new gallery section alongside

00:14a wealth of programming and talks around art and beyond.

00:18The 12th edition of the fair, held at Madinat Jumeirah from March 21 to 24, featured 105

00:24galleries from 48 countries across its contemporary and modern halls, as well as its new section

00:29residents.

00:30This is the second time, and last year we showed the same team lab, and we had such

00:37a great positive reaction, we decided to come back, bringing even larger and more recent

00:43impressive work.

00:44The Art Dubai Contemporary has 78 galleries from 42 countries, including first-time gallery

00:49participations from Iceland, Ethiopia, Ghana and Kazakhstan.

00:54This year's Contemporary Gallery Halls confirmed Art Dubai's unique character as a platform

00:59for discovery for art from across the world and meeting point for art from established

01:03centers and emerging scenes alike.

01:06Artists today are quite universal.

01:08They use means that speak to everybody, and culturally also the access is universal.

01:17Premiering this year's residents is a program called Gallery Section at Art Dubai, which

01:21saw 11 international artists for a four- to eight-week residency producing work which

01:25was presented by the artists' respective galleries at the fair.

01:29I've been a part of Art Dubai Residence that's been a month now, and which was supposed to

01:36be making work in Dubai and exhibiting at Art Dubai at the end of it.

01:42I've always heard about the scale of works, the quality of works here, but it's pretty

01:47interesting how there's a global art form, there's so many other things that are happening

01:51at the same time in the city, and it's obviously, it's amazing.

01:55Art Dubai Modern featured 16 galleries from 14 countries and introduced for the first

02:00time collective exhibitions in addition to solo and two-artists shows.
