00:00I'm a student, so I think it's probably quite easier to make conversation with people, you know, you might be in class.
00:05Dating apps, I'm not a fan, if I'm being honest. I think I just prefer face-to-face, like if I want to talk to you, I want to see your vibe, I want to see, you know, if there's chemistry there.
00:15I'm actually going to a writing workshop for other singles, and then I think the next year there's a walking group with other single people. So yeah, it's still hopeful to find love.
00:26In terms of the town, the people, the professions, the opportunities, I'm sure finding love following that shouldn't be too difficult.
00:35I need somebody that can iron a good pair of trousers, and maybe if she didn't talk too much. Practically, if she didn't speak English, it would help.
00:44Because then I could do all the talking, she could do all the listening. I'm not doing myself any favours here, am I?
00:52I met my partner in Leeds, trying to balance uni life and having a relationship as well. It was quite difficult because we wanted to make our education the main priority.
01:06Knowing that particular day dedicated to love, it's a good way to set everything aside and just have that one day where you can spend time with each other.
01:16I think sometimes with the modern dating apps, it can be a bit hard to work out if you've got anything in common, and obviously then the first date there's a lot of pressure on people.
01:27We're in Rondeau Park today, which is actually quite special for me and my wife, as I think it's the first time she realised that I loved her.
01:34So that was a key moment in our relationship. I basically gave up time with the boys to spend time with her in this beautiful park, so it's very romantic.
01:47I think the most romantic date I ever went on was when I took this lady to the bus station to renew my bus pass. That was a Valentine's treat for her, obviously.
02:00These two have quite a trend. What would you do in Leeds? Would you bring your boyfriend to Leeds for Valentine's Day?
02:06I would. He comes to Leeds to see me anyways, do you know what I mean?
02:09Whenever I've gone out for dinner or any kind of romantic thing with my boyfriend, we always go to town. But I wouldn't say it's a romantic city at all. It's like restaurants and stuff.
02:21I've got my girlfriend Ella. I'll give her a shout out. It's been three years now. We've come to Leeds twice for Valentine's Day, so I would say it's pretty romantic.
02:31My first date ever, I remember we went to the cinema. We stayed there for three hours. We watched Oppenheimer. It was a really long film, three hours.
02:43We just sat next to each other doing absolutely nothing, just watching a film. I remember we left the cinema. We started just walking around the city. I didn't plan anything.
02:53We didn't go to any restaurant or bar. We just started walking, walking. We couldn't even hold hands. It was so embarrassing.
