A man has been arrested over the death of a woman in Mt Gambier

A man has been extradited from Victoria to South Australia over the death of a woman in Mount Gambier.

00:07Wednesday after reports of hazardous and toxic smells coming from inside the home.

00:13Major crime detectives then spoke with neighbours on Thursday while forensic staff combed inside

00:19the unit on Pick Avenue.

00:21Fifty-three-year-old Mount Gambier man Troy Earl James was arrested in Portland last night

00:25and appeared in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court this afternoon.

00:29He was then formally extradited to South Australia and is expected to be charged once he returns

00:33to Mount Gambier.

00:35Police allege Mr James murdered Ms Morrissey between Monday and Wednesday this week in

00:39Mount Gambier.

00:41Detectives have previously said that the pair knew each other.

00:44Mr James is expected to appear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court on Monday.
