Man to be charged with murder after woman's body found in Mount Gambier unit

Police are set to charge a man with murder today after a woman’s body was found in a Mount Gambier unit on Wednesday.

00:11Major crime detectives spoke to neighbours yesterday, while forensic staff combed inside

00:18Later in the day, with the help of Victoria Police, a 53-year-old man from Mount Gambier

00:23was arrested in Portland, about an hour's drive away.

00:27Detectives believe the man and woman knew each other.

00:29The man is expected to be charged with murder soon, and will then appear in the Warrnambool

00:35Magistrates Court, where South Australia Police will seek his extradition back to Mount Gambier.

00:42Flowers have been laid overnight in the front yard of the woman's unit, which lies on the

00:46road from Mount Gambier to Portland, and is close to two schools.
