The National Hockey team the Calypso Stickmen opened their FIH Indoor World Cup campaign with a heavy 7-2 defeat to Australia in Croatia.

T&T got goals from Teague Marcano and Shaquille Daniel in the defeat and will look to try for their first win on Wednesday when they tackle Namibia.

00:00TNT were decked in black as they were ready to open their World Cup campaign against the Aussies.
00:11And there were some TNT fans in the stands to cheer the Calypso Stickmen on too.
00:16But TNT were forced to defend early in the contest.
00:21That was a warning as Australia would get a quick double strike from Thomas Miyoto.
00:31The 27-year-old right on spot to convert the field goals.
00:39An untimely giveaway would give the Aussies the numerical advantage as Ben Steens gave the men from down under a 3-0 first quarter lead.
00:49TNT would concede a fourth early in the second quarter but stopped the bleeding as they were down 4-0 at the half.
00:55TNT's biggest threats came off penalty corners which they dominated 7-1.
01:00But their first goal would be a field goal from the prolific Teague Mercano.
01:08But just when TNT were having their most fluent spell, things would go south quickly.
01:17Aidan Dooley scoring twice in 32 seconds to kill TNT's hopes.
01:21Dooley would take over the third quarter as he nudged his hat trick.
01:26But to the credit of the Calypso Stickmen, they would stay positive as Shaquille Daniel confuted on one of their penalty corners.
01:34That was all the scoring though as TNT fell 7-2 to Australia in their indoor World Cup opener.
