This year, the Philippines' largest multi-arts event is coming back and that is the CCP Pasinaya Open House Festival
00:08
which is already in the 11th edition.
00:11
It is scheduled to be held on February 1 and 2 in different places or venues nationwide.
00:18
And joining us now is Sir Dennis Marasigan, the Vice President and Artistic Director of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
00:28
Good morning Sir Dennis and welcome to Rise and Shine Filipino.
00:31
Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Thank you very much.
00:35
Alright Sir, for our viewers who are not familiar with Pasinaya,
00:41
can you explain what the Pasinaya Open House Festival is?
00:45
The CCP Pasinaya Open House Festival is a multi-arts festival that is held every year
00:53
in celebration of the National Arts Month.
00:57
Because February is National Arts Month.
00:59
And what is done here is that different artists do workshops and performances.
01:08
And for the viewers, they can sample these performances and performances.
01:16
There is a time limit of 20 minutes.
01:19
So you can watch as much as you can.
01:22
You can workshop as much as you can.
01:24
So that if you like it, maybe you want to buy a ticket
01:27
or watch them in their next production.
01:31
Yes, when you see the videos now,
01:34
you can feel the passion for the arts and culture, right?
01:39
It has been 19 years, right?
01:42
Actually, 20 years.
01:43
We had a pandemic for 2 years.
01:45
Oh, it's been 20 years.
01:47
It started in 2005.
01:49
Oh, it's been a long time.
01:51
And then I understand that last year,
01:54
different venues were started in Manganapin, Pasinaya.
01:57
So this year, where are the places where there are celebrations
02:02
or where Pasinaya is held?
02:04
We really started in the CCP Complex.
02:06
After that, we had different places that we went to.
02:11
For example, we have Paseo Museo.
02:13
So the museums in Manila and Pasay became part of Pasinaya.
02:17
Last year, CCP Pasinaya was also established
02:20
in Tagum, Davao del Norte, and Ilo-Ilo City.
02:23
Now, this year, we are happy that there are many more.
02:27
CCP Pasinaya will also be held
02:29
in the Provincial Capital Grounds of Batangas City.
02:32
We also have it in Sorsogon City
02:35
and in Himamaylan, Negros Occidental.
02:38
Aside from the circuits in Makati and Casa Metropolitan Theater.
02:42
Wow!
02:44
Sir, this year, there is a new addition to Pasinaya,
02:48
which is the playgrounds.
02:50
So what is this and why is it added to the first components of Pasinaya?
02:55
Which are the playgrounds, venues, Paseo Museo-Palitan,
02:58
Pagetipon, and the other families.
03:01
Aside from the venues and venues,
03:03
as I mentioned, we have Paseo Museo.
03:05
Then we also have Changge, the families.
03:07
There are also business-to-business exchanges,
03:09
the Palitan,
03:10
where those who want to play can talk to the artists they want to play.
03:16
Now, there are grants given by the CCP for digital games.
03:23
So now, we will include them in the CCP Pasinaya.
03:26
They can go to the CCP Complex,
03:29
there is a booth there,
03:31
where they can play these games.
03:36
This is fun!
03:37
So even if it is small, you can experience it.
03:40
Correct.
03:41
Also, it is integrated with digital, right?
03:44
Correct.
03:45
Also, the grants given by the CCP for games,
03:48
these games are based on the culture of the Philippines.
03:51
For example, there is a game called Gala.
03:55
You can go to different places in the Philippines through digital games.
04:00
This is fun!
04:01
It's like a Filipinized video game.
04:04
So last year, you reached 45,000 people who went to Pasinaya.
04:10
So this year, how many people or audience do you expect?
04:15
Especially all over the Philippines.
04:17
Based on the number of people every year,
04:21
we expect more than 55,000 to 60,000 people
04:25
will go to different places in Pasinaya.
04:30
Well, Sir Dennis,
04:32
what else should our countrymen expect in Pasinaya 2025?
04:37
Can you invite our viewers now?
04:40
We invite our countrymen to go to the CCP Pasinaya,
04:45
not only to the CCP Complex,
04:47
but also to other places where it will be held.
04:49
If you think you want to sample,
04:52
to taste different snacks from different kinds of movies
04:56
and different shows,
04:58
from dance, theater, music,
05:01
to visual cinema,
05:04
and even movies,
05:07
go to the CCP Pasinaya.
05:10
Workshop as much as you can.
05:12
Watch as much as you can.
05:14
Pay as much as you can.
05:16
This is really free.
05:18
This is a way to bring different films and cultures of the Philippines to our countrymen.
05:24
Let's meet at the CCP Pasinaya on February 1 and 2.
05:29
Saturday, Sunday, no weekend.
05:31
February 1 and 2.
05:32
This is the best time to embrace and get to know the Filipino culture through arts.
05:38
Once again, thank you very much, Sir Dennis,
05:41
for joining us this morning.
05:43
I'm sure more Filipinos will go to Pasinaya this year.
05:49
Thank you very much, Sir.
05:50
Thank you very much.
