00:05Bahru Magistrate's Court for lodging a false police report, claiming she was nearly abducted

00:12Amira Laila Ho pleaded guilty before Magistrate Hidayatul Shuhada Shamsuddin after the charge
00:20was read out to her in English on Tuesday.
00:23The 45-year-old was accused of providing false information to police personnel at Larkin
00:29Police Station at around 1.02am on January 22.
00:34Based on the facts of the case, Ho claimed in her report that she was approached by a
00:39man and a woman at a mall located along Jalan Seledang at around 1pm on January 10.
00:46She said they were promoting Chinese tea, but declined their offer.
00:50The woman then reportedly insisted that she smelled the tea leaves, which Ho claimed caused
00:55her to feel dizzy and stiff.
00:57She further claimed that the man then held her right arm while saying that he was her
01:02husband, which Ho denied while the other woman took her handbag containing 400 ringgit.
01:09Ho, who was unrepresented, was charged under Section 182 of the Penal Code, which carries
01:15a maximum of six months' imprisonment or a fine of up to 2,000 ringgit or both upon conviction.
01:23She paid the 1,000 ringgit fine.
