00:00Thousands of workers from private and other government agencies gathered in Luneta

00:06for the fun run launched by the Department of Budget and Management.

00:11That's what Isaiah Mirafente reported.

00:16More than 4,000 individuals from various government and private agencies

00:22gathered early in Luneta Grandstand

00:25for the fun run launched by the Department of Budget and Management.

00:29They are one of the DBMs for the so-called Open Government Partnership.

00:35The Open Government Partnership, or OGP,

00:38is the active participation of the public in government agencies.

00:42Among those who did not miss this fun run

00:45are Gilbert, from Tubong, Quezon Province,

00:48and he works for the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation.

00:51It's a big thing because aside from exercising,

00:57it's good for our health and our business.

01:01It's a big help for the body to avoid diseases.

01:06He was also the first to reach the finish line

01:09and cover the longest distance of 10 kilometers.

01:14This fun run is a kick-off event

01:16of the Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting Philippines 2025

01:20in the coming months.

01:21The most discussed is the Open Government Partnership, or OGP.

01:26They discuss how active the public's participation in government

01:31in each country in Asia is.

01:33You know, we have more than 200 international participants

01:39coming to our event.

01:41So we expect that we will have a good discussion

01:47on best practices in terms of public participation.

01:52In order to show the importance of each government agency

01:55to private groups,

01:57the DBMs in the Metro Manila Development Authority,

02:00or MMDA, and the Philippine Red Cross.

02:03You know, I always say that my ultimate goal

02:08is to raise the level of trust of our countrymen

02:13in our government.

02:20Well, we are happy and thankful to SECMINA

02:24for supporting us as a support for the OGP Fun Run.

02:29More on traffic management,

02:31and the events management helped us

02:34to come up with this OGP Fun Run, the first ever.

02:38The Fun Run raised almost Php 7 million in funds

02:42from those who contributed and sponsors.

02:46All of its earnings will go to the Philippine Red Cross

02:50for their programs to help the country.
