00:16The Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor is committed to expanding their programs to help all those in need.
00:23In the program Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon, the PCUP shared the importance of their role in providing services to the urban poor.
00:31PCUP Chairperson Atty. Maynard Sabili explained,
00:34their agency's membership will help a lot,
00:37just like the demolition of the informal settlers where the PCUP,
00:42through its efforts, will be able to protect everyone's rights.
00:48Before we can give clearance, we have a pre-demolition conference.
00:55And during the demolition conference, the sheriff is there, the local government unit is there, the DILG is there,
01:03and we will talk to them about the rights of the informal settlers who already have orders.
01:13So, we are placing the conditions.
01:16Their agency does not do the same compared to the services provided by DSWD, DOH, and others.
01:23We have assurances that there is no duplication because we help what is happening.
01:28It's like helping each other. Their department is making sure that it is implemented.
01:39Because we are helping each other, we are really helping each other.
01:43The agency has also increased its social preparation for those affected by infrastructure projects.
01:49The PCUP also assures that it will be able to receive livelihoods that will benefit more than 700,000 families.
01:56Under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s order,
01:59this year, the PCUP will continue to target the services of various agencies
02:03so that the help to those in need will probably arrive.
