00:00Many Chinese nationals are high-risk tourists and visitors with suspicious backgrounds and

00:05are criminal characters, which the country found out the hard way in dealing with the

00:10headache called POGOs.

00:12Not a problem, there is another market for trouble-free tourists who need to be tapped

00:17coming from the country with the largest human population.

00:21Tourism Secretary Cristina Frasco has been in touch with India's foreign minister, recently

00:27seeking to open up the country to Indian tourists by way of an e-visa or open visa

00:32scheme for travelers and visitors.

00:35And working group teams have been formed and business and trade missions are being sent

00:39and swapped to include private tourism stakeholders to pave the way for greater tourist arrivals.

00:46The DFA has initially launched this system and we are hopeful that with the president's

00:53instructions, it will become more efficient, professional, and globally competitive.

01:01This system will be done by the DFA and the DI.

01:07As far as the Philippines is concerned, the status of the liberalization of our visas

01:15should be compared to our ASEAN neighbors' visa to be liberalized.

01:20But in terms of priority, it's really India that we're looking at right now for visa liberalization.
