Mark Atkinson previews Celtic’s Champions League clash with Young Boys.

00:00Celtic Park will be the venue on Wednesday night for a huge Champions League tie between Celtic and Young Boys of Switzerland.

00:10Should Celtic win in the penultimate game week of the league phase, they will all but secure their place in the play-off round of this tournament

00:18and end a 12-year wait for knockout football in Europe's Blue Riband competition.

00:24We've just been speaking to manager Brendan Rodgers and captain Callum MacGregor

00:28and both of them very much aware of the prize at stake for Celtic.

00:32Obviously, no trophy if they were to win here in 24 hours' time.

00:36However, the prize is something that Celtic have craved for a long time and would almost be better than some silverware,

00:41some would say, getting into that kind of elite band of clubs in Europe.

00:47Callum MacGregor says he doesn't want Celtic to be nearly men anymore on this stage.

00:52Rodgers spoke of the maturity of his team and how they've grown over the past three to four months.

00:58They have to back up really good results against RB Leipzig, Atalanta, Slovan Bratislava, Dinamo Zagreb and Club Brugge

01:04by beating Young Boys who are bottom of the league and have got zero points.

01:09They're sitting eighth in their own division back in Switzerland

01:12and some would say Celtic could not have picked a better opponent to try and win what many have called a cup final.

01:20Rodgers cautioned against such complacency, saying that Young Boys are still a very dangerous team,

01:25athletic and aggressive, and they come here under a new manager.

01:30They're third so far of a pretty tumultuous season.

01:34You think that Celtic are going to get a fast start here?

01:36They'll be hard to beat. They want to get the crowd on their side right away.

01:40They want to try and get synergy between themselves and the fans.

01:44Rodgers referenced the club's past. He referenced 1967 and when Celtic won this tournament

01:49and how he says that produces a culture that this club and this team need to achieve.

01:54It could be a really momentous evening for Celtic when they take on Young Boys.
