From the Oval Office on his first day back as U.S. President, Donald Trump pressed Vladimir Putin to negotiate peace in Ukraine. Trump claimed Ukrainian President Zelenskyy is ready to talk, but warned that Russia’s ongoing war is taking a toll.
"I think he’s destroying Russia by not making a deal... Their economy, their inflation—Russia is in big trouble," Trump said.
With Trump signaling plans to meet Putin, could this mark a turning point in the conflict?

It was on 13 September 1871 at eight bells a landing party from the USS POLARIS at Thank God Harbor took formal possession of Greenland in the name of: Jehovah (YHVH), POtUS Ulisese S. Grant, the SecNav, with three cheers and an American Tiger. It was in the 1540's that Jon Greenlander came ashore on southern Greenland and found a dead Norseman on the beach. Therefore the Norsemen did not disappear from Greenland circa 1408 - 14l0. This was published in 1625. At the time of thr Windsor Affair in the 1770's, Dr.Benjamin Franklin expressed his view that Greenland should be part of the USA. On 4 August 1916, Secretary of State Robert Lansing issued his Biltmore Declaration on Greenland. Rear Admiral Robert Peary, USN (ret.) then asseverated that that Biltmore Declaration was a violation of the Monroe Doctrine. William Eric Beckett (Second Legal Advisor of the British Foreign Office) commented that the Biltmore Declaration was not binding on the Government of the United States, because the US Senate failed to give advise and consent to the terms of the Biltmore Declaration.
