00:00This is a quite exciting moment. We've seen, you know, interesting new companies with strong AI themes getting listed.
00:11So I think, you know, it is a new era and AI will get a lot of attention in the
00:18market.
00:19It's very interesting if we look specifically at robotics.
00:23Over half of the money that Unitree hopes to raise with its Shanghai listing is earmarked for research and development.
00:33So do you think potential investors are buying into the potential rather than the bottom line of these companies?
00:40The sort of feedback I got from investors, both domestic and international investors in the past few years, a lot
00:47of interest in this area.
00:49And I've seen global investors coming to China. In the past, they would, you know, go to Beijing and Shanghai.
00:58Nowadays, they would want to go to places like Hangzhou and Shenzhen where this kind of robotic or AI related
01:05companies are based.
01:07So I think there's a very strong interest and these companies are also global leaders.
01:13Ubitech listed in Hong Kong in 2023. That was the first humanoid robot company to go public, as far as
01:21I understand.
01:22But Unitree is talking about embodied AI. That sounds like next level stuff. Just talk us through that.
01:29This concept essentially is combining robotics and AI that you can make basically robotics that trend on the, you know,
01:40not just in the factory.
01:42You see these robotic dogs that run on all kinds of surfaces and collect data in this process and utilize
01:53models to algorithms to optimize the way that these robotics should move.
02:01It is a very different, another stage of robotics.
02:05You mentioned DeepSeq and we have just heard that this Chinese large language model is going to start charging sharply
02:13more, which I suppose is pretty similar to what a lot of the U.S. large language models are doing.
02:20That's an alternative way to raise money, I guess. What do you make of that decision by DeepSeq?
02:25It's true that the original pricing was probably too low for them to make the business model viable in the
02:34longer term, right?
02:35So, and in terms of performance, the performance is already very good.
02:40So, they have this pricing power that they can lift price and make their business model more sustainable.
02:48And we'll find out, but I think the, this is probably a good idea for a lot of these other
02:58players in the market, not just American players, but also Chinese players in the market.
03:03Because if you, you know, if you put the price too low, essentially, you just, you know, squeeze everybody out
03:10and nobody can make money.
03:11And this is not good for the development of this industry.
03:15We do have this concept of anti-involution that is very much promoted by the government and low price is
03:23not always a good thing.
