Crash sends car flying over Mound Road median in Sterling Heights

Police believe drunk driving and speed were a factor in a serious crash on Mound Road in Sterling Heights on Jan. 20, 2025. WWJ's Charlie Langton was on the scene, at Mound and 18 Mile Rd.

00:00Very, very serious crash here.

00:06This is Mound Road, actually North and South Bound Mound closed because of this crash.

00:12You can see that the Sterling Heights Police on the scene, they've been here since about

00:172.30 this morning diverting traffic away from Mound, but you can see all the debris in the

00:23road.

00:25This is the North Bound Mound side, this is the South Bound over there.

00:30Again, a lot of cars being diverted in this very cold weather.

00:34Not sure if the crash was on the other side and that came over to the, started on the

00:38South and came to the North side, but obviously this is an ongoing investigation.

00:43Avoid this area.

00:44A lot of problems here.
