00:00When I say down, down with deportation, up, up with deportation.
00:06We wrap our arms around them.
00:09New York has always been a place.
00:11We also have to follow the law and the protocols.
00:14We just have to figure out where it happens,
00:17prepare the community by giving them the information that they need.
00:21That's all we can do.
00:23If a raid happens, take down the ICE officer's information,
00:27take down the client that's being taken information.
00:30That is all that we can do.
00:32I mean, we don't know what he's going to do.
00:34So we just have to wait and prepare when he does it.
00:37There is a greater chance somehow of finding quote-unquote proof.
00:41For temporary protected status and to bring back the right to shelter in New York City.
00:46We will continue to do our Know Your Rights workshops.
00:50We're going to continue to share information on how to navigate any ICE enforcement,
00:56no matter where you are in New York State,
00:58whether that's in New York City or if you're navigating traffic upstate.
01:02We will stand by our community and practice community care.
01:05And frankly, that is the best tool we have to make sure that people do not enter the deportation and detention pipeline.
01:13He has $6.9 billion here to spend.
01:17I also want to make sure to point out,
01:22The asylum seekers, the long-standing immigrants are not even hoping.
01:26It's just like, what do I do?
01:28The anxiety is there. It's not leaving.
01:30What's next? What's going to happen?
01:32They keep asking and I don't have answers.
01:34And that's what makes it worse.
01:36You know, they're looking to me for answers.
01:38And normally I have answers, but right now I don't.
01:41No fear! Immigrants are welcome here! No hate! No fear!
01:46Immigrants are welcome here!
01:48There's definitely an anxiety knowing that there's 200 ICE agents that are coming into the city of Chicago.
01:54We've done all we can to try to be prepared and support as many people as we can in the city of Chicago.
02:00But ultimately, we'll see what next week brings.
02:04Individuals and families are worried about what potentially could happen.
02:07They're worried about deportation.
02:09But the biggest blow to our community is living in fear.
02:12When communities are living in fear, they don't go to work, they don't go to school.
02:16Long-term, that has an impact not just on the immigrant communities,
02:19but it has an impact on our entire city and entire country as a whole.
02:22Because we rely on immigrant labor.
02:24We have our growth, our population, our consumers.
02:28A very large portion of them are immigrants that are coming into the U.S.
02:32And so when they're in fear, it impacts all of us.
02:35We need to comply with the law.
02:36So while we need to comply, that doesn't mean we need to aid or support any efforts
02:40that are going to put individuals or families in harm's way or cause trauma to our communities.
02:46You are now a fascist.
02:50Get out.
02:52He wants to make Chicago and Denver and these other places ground zero for these mass deportations,
02:59for these ground-ups, and make an example out of a sanctuary city like Chicago.
03:05But Chicago and the people here need to make Chicago a different example of people finding their courage,
03:12strengthening their backbone to actually be out here
03:15and actually defend people when they are coming under attack.
03:19You have people who are just trying to survive and find a way to live, you know,
03:24and you have these mass deportations and these ground-ups coming down on people.
03:29In defense of immigrants under attack by the fascists of Trump and Maga.
03:59You
