00:00We were driving down our road and we see Miss Beagle running across the road in front of us.

00:06She is breaking my heart.

00:09She didn't even want to look you in the eye.

00:12It was pretty clear to us from the start that she wasn't used to being inside the house,

00:18wasn't really used to human interaction either.

00:22We contacted the shelters and the vet clinics and posted her everywhere and no one came forward.

00:26She wanted to constantly have her face hidden under little tiny cabinets and things,

00:33anything to hide herself.

00:37Of course, treats helped. She is a little bit food motivated.

00:45After the first few days, we started letting her go outside with her other dogs.

00:50And I think that's what really made a difference.

00:54They kind of showed her the way.

00:56Now when I open the door, she runs.

00:59So we're working on it.

01:02This is her friend Claire who is another stray Beagle we found.

01:09Mocha, come here.

01:11Come on.

01:12Good girl.

01:14As long as her friends come up, she definitely comes.

01:16Good girl.

01:18And that's how we spent the first few days trying to socialize her.

01:21And then I started sticking my hand out of the door, just my hand,

01:25and she would come up and smell it and lick it.

01:28And since then, we've made huge progress where she'll climb in my lap and, you know,

01:33she'll let me pet her all over and everything.

01:36And seeing that transformation makes every bit of the effort worth it.
