Youngsters impressing for Spurs in poor season

A shining light has been the young players this campaign so far.

00:00And finally, just on Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall, obviously both 18 years old,

00:04both made a huge impact in this Spurs' size this season. Obviously, you mentioned there hasn't been

00:10great form, but they have really shown their worth and really shown they've got so much potential in

00:16the future as well. How important and how good have they been in shining light in Spurs' poor season?

00:24Yeah, I mean, you know, Archie Gray has been absolutely terrific. I mean, you know, as we've

00:30said before, he's been asked to play out of position. He probably didn't expect to play as

00:33much football. I mean, he's played now in every position, practically on the pitch,

00:38certainly in the back four, but we've never actually seen him in his true position in

00:41midfield. And, you know, when we do, he's going to be an absolute star. I mean, I don't think it's,

00:46you know, an over-exaggeration to say that Archie Gray is going to be a generational talent and,

00:50you know, a potential future captain of this club. I mean, he's had, you know, he shows more

00:55signs of being a leader than some of the older players. You know, he was trying to nurture Radu

00:58Dragacin through last night, you know, when Fraser Foster practically threw two in against

01:03Manchester United. He was the one saying it was my fault, you know, back pass, not your fault.

01:07And that's a 37-year-old, you know, senior goalkeeper. So, he's been incredible and he's

01:12oozed class. Yes, he's been caught out of position a couple of times. You know, we've had a couple of

01:17goals we've conceded where, you know, the back line's pushed up and he's just been a little bit

01:20slow to push out and it's cost us a couple of goals. But overall, you know, he's been terrific

01:26and £40 million will probably prove to be a bargain in the coming years because we need to

01:31build the team around him. He's been fantastic. So, he comes out with a lot of credit from the

01:35season so far and what must be a tough, tough time for him as well. Lukas Bergvall as well,

01:40you know, he had a slow start, fair to say. I think that, you know, a lot of people thought

01:43it might just take a little bit of time to settle coming in with a big price tag from Sweden.

01:48Obviously, the leagues are sort of poles apart really. But in the last few weeks, he's really,

01:53really started to show his worth and again, you know, going to be a future star. The fact he's

01:58keeping James Madison out of the team, you know, probably tells you a lot about Madison's form at

02:02the moment. But also the fact that, you know, he deserves to be playing. You know, he was excellent

02:07against Liverpool, whether he should have still been on the pitch is another thing. But he was,

02:11you know, he was very, very good and he was the one player last night who was trying to make

02:15things happen. He didn't shy away, he wanted the ball. He's been playing very, very well as sort

02:19of that eight, but he also can play as a six and I think he's, you know, he's certainly got goals

02:23in him as well. He's got, you know, terrific technique. So, the two of them, you know,

02:27come out with real, real, real large amounts of credit and, you know, the goalkeeper only

02:31been 21, Kinski. He was a little bit shaky against Arsenal but, you know, he's shown signs. I think

02:37he's going to be a very, very promising signing. We've obviously got Mikey Marr coming back in now.

02:41He looked good in the second half against Tamworth, albeit, you know, caveat the opposition,

02:45but a long layoff again he's had with his virus. So, green shoots certainly around the young

02:50players, but we need that. We're crying out for some experience and some proper leadership to

02:54really sort of steer us through this difficult path because this is uncharted waters for these

02:59young guys.
