00:08Margaret Qualley is opening up about the long-lasting effects she suffered while
00:12filming for The Substance. The actress, who plays Sue in the Body Horror film,
00:17recently shared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that her skin was damaged for nearly a year after
00:22filming wrapped. She explained,
00:24"'At the end, when they're shooting up my skirt in the beginning credits,
00:27when it's like the palm trees all around and they have all these long lenses from the bottom,
00:31that's just because my face was so f***ed up by that time that they couldn't, like,
00:35shoot my face anymore." The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actress added that she was still
00:39struggling with acne from the prosthetics when she began shooting her next film, Kinds of Kindness.
00:44She noted that one of her characters in the Yorgos Lanthimos film
00:47had acne due to the acne from the prosthetics.
00:50"'I'm playing all these different characters. For one of them,
00:52we'll use all my crazy prosthetic acne. It took me probably a year to recover
00:56physically from all of it.'"
00:58The Substance, also starring Demi Moore and Dennis Quaid,
