00:00An all-time high of Php 760 billion was recorded

00:05by the Department of Tourism from foreign tourists.

00:09The agency also laid out plans to make tourism more active in the country.

00:15Here is the report.

00:19The Department of Tourism is looking forward to its impact

00:22on the tourism sector this 2025.

00:25In the program Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon,

00:28Tourism Secretary Cristina Frasco said

00:31that they will not only be limited in tourism promotion,

00:34but they will also continue tourism development and tourism investment.

00:40They are cooperating with the private sector

00:42to ensure that there will be more accommodations

00:45or structures in the Philippines that will be accessible to foreign tourists.

00:50We are very grateful that the Philippine Hotel Owners Association

00:53has committed to work with us in implementing

00:56the Philippine Hotel Infrastructure Strategic Action Plan

01:00that we launched to address the growth in room keys.

01:03Secretary Frasco said that they will continue to pay attention

01:07to programs that will enhance the culture of Filipinos.

01:11That is through the continuation of our Philippine Experience Programs.

01:16These are heritage, culture, and arts caravans

01:19that we brought to 11 regions.

01:21In addition, they will bring the Philippine Experience Program

01:27to all regions of the country.

01:28They will also have additional tourism rest areas

01:32such as clean, beautiful, and fragrant restrooms.

01:37For our tourists all over the country,

01:41with 10 constructed, 22 ongoing, and 60 more forthcoming

01:48for various LGUs in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

01:53The Tourism Department will also build

01:55tourist first aid facilities on various islands of the country

01:59to further improve the tourist experience.

02:02This is also the first time this year

02:03that the country is participating in the Global Stage

02:06at the Osaka World Expo 2025.

02:09The Philippines is mounting a pavilion with a theme woven

02:14featuring the weaving traditions and weaving communities of the country

02:19and all of the regions of the Philippines

02:22and the highlights of these destinations

02:25including the sites, the products, and the like.

02:28Gastronomy tourism, or the promotion of tourism

02:33through delicious food and drinks, is also expected.

02:36They also plan to add cruise tourism destinations,

02:40dive tourism, and more.

02:42This also includes the development of tourism infrastructure

02:46and many more.
