00:14Quenzel Bocobo of IBC with the national news.
00:21Alan, in order to give more help to the tourism workers affected by the calamity,
00:26the Department of Tourism and the Department of Social Welfare and Development have formed a partnership.
00:32The DOT Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco and the TSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian
00:37passed a Memorandum of Agreement to strengthen the project of the Department of Tourism
00:43which is called Bayanihan sa Bukas na Maypag-asa sa Turismo or BBMT.
00:49This project provides various tourism livelihood programs
00:53such as basic meals, farm tourism training, bread and artwork, community-based culinaria,
01:00homestay training, and more.
01:02For our Filipinos, livelihood is in tourism
01:06so that they can still earn money even if they are affected by the calamity.
01:12According to GSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian,
01:15it is rare for the DOT and its agency to join in a project.
01:20But here at BBMP,
01:22there is also a mission to improve the livelihood of Filipinos in the area.
01:27Because of this, the resources in BBMP will be added
01:31such as disaster preparedness tools and financial assistance.
01:35It is also present in the signatures of some of our countrymen in the tourism industry
01:39who have added jobs and have proven the positive effect of the project on their lives.
