00:00The National Irrigation Administration, or NIA, expects security in the food and stable supply of electricity this year.
00:08According to NIA Administrator-Engineer Eduardo Guillen,
00:12in 2024, they recorded 70,000 hectares of irrigated lands that they will turn over.
00:22With the help of digitalization and innovative use,
00:26the agency has expanded their projects, such as the Malmar Project,
00:34and multi-purpose dams that took almost a decade to implement.
00:41NIA expects that aside from rice supply, electricity supply will also be added in 2025.
00:49This is because they will create a new system of planting using water that comes from the dams.
00:56They also plan to build high dams so that more water can be accumulated whenever it rains.
01:04I expect that our farmers will receive more help, sustainable help,
01:10because that is what our President wants, the empowerment of our farmers.
01:14That is the ultimate goal that we want to achieve, to empower them so that they can stand on their own two feet.
