00:00Introducing Tombot, the world's most realistic and affordable robotic companion animal.

00:05In 2011, my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

00:09And of the many bad days we had early on, by far the worst was when I had to take away her dog.

00:14She had a beautiful two-year-old Golden Doodle, a dog with ordinarily a lovely disposition,

00:20that she had managed to train to be aggressive towards her caregiver.

00:24While we had close family friends that offered to make a new home for her dog,

00:28my mother, losing her best friend and sole companion, was devastated.

00:34And it broke my heart to be the one that had to do that.

00:36This sent me on a multi-year research and educational journey

00:40to learn more about the science of emotional attachment and human-dog relationships.

00:45I also learned a great deal about the behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia, or BPSD,

00:52and the benefits of non-pharmacological interventions.

00:57Convinced it was possible to make a difference for my mother and others like her,

01:01I launched Tombot in 2017.

01:04I'd like to introduce you to Jenny, our prototype robot.

01:08Jenny is the world's most realistic and affordable robotic companion animal.

01:13Unlike mechanical toy animals, Jenny is designed to look, feel and behave like a live dog.

01:21Jenny is covered with touch sensors.

01:23This allows her to feel where and how she is being touched and allow her to behave accordingly.

01:29Jenny responds to voice commands.

01:31Jenny, want a treat?

01:38Jenny's patent-pending internal architecture mimics the anatomy of a real dog,

01:44providing her with lifelike movement in her head and neck.

01:47Realistic facial expressions make interacting with Jenny a personal and unique experience.

01:53A wagging tail is a true sign of a dog's temperament, and Jenny is no exception.

01:59A built-in speaker allows Jenny to communicate with authentic puppy sounds.

02:07Tombot tracks user interaction data, allowing the caregiver to understand how and when she's being used.

02:14Tombots are made of hypoallergenic and antimicrobial material and will never bite.

02:20Tombot is designed to make a lasting impression from the very first interaction.
