00:00The Critics' Choice Awards have been postponed amid the wildfires currently raging across Los Angeles.
00:08The show hosted by Chelsea Handler was set to take place in Santa Monica on Sunday and air
00:13live on E! The ceremony is set a new date of January 26th. Critics' Choice Association CEO
00:19Joey Berlin said in a statement,
00:21This unfolding tragedy has already had a profound impact on our community.
00:25All our thoughts and prayers are with those battling the devastating fires,
00:29and with all who have been affected.
00:31The event was set to be held at the Barker Hangar,
00:33which is located just a few miles from the Pacific Palisades,
00:36where thousands have been evacuated and many homes have been destroyed.
00:40The Eaton Hurst and Woodley fires are also currently active in LA County and at 0% containment.
00:46They have all led to more than 30,000 evacuations and at least two deaths.
00:51Critics' Choice joins a number of other Hollywood events that have been postponed or cancelled in
00:55recent days due to the fires, including several film premieres, the annual BAFTA Tea Party,
01:00and the AFI Awards.
