00:00Jacob Elordi could be replacing Paul Meskell in Ridley Scott's thriller The Dog Stars.
00:05The Euphoria actor is in early negotiations to replace Meskell,
00:08who had been previously set to star in the 20th Century Studios movie.
00:12The film will be an adaptation of Peter Heller's 2012 apocalyptic novel of the same name,
00:17which centers on a civilian pilot living on an abandoned airbase with his dog and
00:21an ex-marine amid a devastating pandemic. The Hollywood Reporter was first to report
00:25last month that Scott said at a Gladiator 2 screening that Meskell would likely drop
00:29out of The Dog Stars, due to the actor being busy with Sam Mendes' four-film Beatles project.
00:35Sony has not confirmed Meskell's rumored casting as Paul McCartney. Scott said at the time,
00:40"...Paul is actually stacked up doing The Beatles next, so I may have to let him go."
00:44Elordi is known for such films as Saltburn, Priscilla and Doe Canada.
