00:00It seems that Paul Meskel is headed down Abbey Road.
00:03During a conversation at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles,
00:07Meskel's Gladiator 2 director Ridley Scott let slip that the actor may have some scheduling
00:12conflicts for their next film collaboration. In a conversation with Christopher Nolan,
00:16the filmmaker asked Scott if Meskel is set to star in his upcoming thriller feature The Dog
00:21Stars. Scott confirmed this as true before correcting himself and explaining that Meskel's
00:27schedule may prevent the Gladiator 2 pair from reuniting on the new film. According to Scott,
00:32the actor is set to star in Sony Pictures' Beatles movies for director Sam Mendes.
00:37Maybe Paul is actually stacked up doing The Beatles next, so I may have to let him go.
00:41While this casting decision has not been confirmed by the studio,
00:45Meskel has been rumored to be a top choice to play Paul McCartney in the upcoming four biopics
00:50that Mendes is set to make about the famed Fab Four. Each film will be released theatrically
00:55and focus on a different one of the four main band members, McCartney, John Lennon,
00:59George Harrison and Ringo Starr. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight last
01:03month, Meskel was asked about how it would feel to play McCartney in light of the rumors.
01:08It would be an incredible story to be attached to. The fact that Sam Mendes is attached to direct,
01:12like truly, it would be a dream come true. Also last month, Beatles drummer Starr told
01:17Entertainment Tonight that Barry Keoghan will be playing him in the films and that he understands
01:21that the actor has been taking drum lessons. Rumors have circulated that Joseph Quinn has
01:26also been considered for a role. For more on this story, head to THR.com.
