00:09across England as 2025 begins with a severe cold spell. The Met Office has issued yellow

00:15weather warnings for snow and ice covering nearly all of England, Wales and parts of

00:18Scotland from Saturday to Monday. Around two inches of snow is expected in the Midlands,

00:23Wales and Northern England, with temperatures dropping to minus two in central Scotland

00:27and hovering between one and two degrees Celsius elsewhere. Ice warnings are already

00:32in effect for Scotland, Northern Ireland and parts of Wales, lasting through Friday and Saturday.

00:36Deputy Chief Forecaster Dan Holley cautioned that an incoming Atlantic weather front could

00:40bring significant snow to parts of Wales, Northern England and the Midlands, with between

00:44five and thirty centimetres possible in some areas. Travel disruption is expected,

00:49especially on higher routes, and people are advised to check road and rail updates before travelling.
