00:00The Philippine General Hospital recorded 17 confirmed cases of COVID-19 this New Year's Eve.

00:13As part of the Ligtas Kirsmas in the new Philippines Hospital Preparedness Rounds,

00:18Department of Health visited the Philippine General Hospital, Manila Doctors' Hospital and Tondo Medical Center

00:27According to the Philippine General Hospital, as of January 2, 2025, 17 confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported.

00:3515 of them were males and 2 were females.

00:397 of them were children and 10 were adults.

00:43Most of them were infected in the eyes.

00:45Most of them were infected with QTIS, Syndrome Judas, 5-Star and Triangulo.

00:52This is higher than the 13 cases reported in 2023.

00:56The number of road traffic injuries reported by the hospital in 2024 is also higher than in 2023.

01:04The hospital is also monitoring communicable and non-communicable diseases this holiday season.

01:09The number of bronchial asthma cases reported by the hospital in 2024 is higher than in 2023.

01:16The number of acute coronary syndrome cases is also higher than in 2023.

01:20The number of strokes reported by the hospital in 2024 is also lower than in 2023.

01:27I think it is very important for the Department of Health to focus on prevention and health promotion, disease control.

01:34One is the recent firework-related injury in Manila Doctors' Hospital.

01:39More than 20 road traffic injuries were reported by the hospital last year compared to 2023.

01:50In Tondo Medical Center, 46 firework-related injuries were reported while 70 road traffic injuries were reported.
