00:17The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, or BFAR, of Bufar, in Mimaropa,
00:22deposited a Fish Production Facility for a group of fishermen in Magsaysay,
00:27which is worth P10 million Pesos.
00:29OIC Regional Director Roberto Abrera explained that the project is far increasing the fish supply in the country.
00:37The project is made up of four fish aggregating devices.
00:41Each of these has a width of 10 meters and can hold 30,000 pieces of fish
00:47or other high-value fish.
00:49The so-called equipment is made of high-density polyethylene, or HPE,
00:54and can last for 10 years.
00:56Aside from this, the project also includes 52,000 Bangus Fingerlings
01:00and more than 1,000 bags of feeds that can be used by 45 fishermen
01:05together with the local community of Santa Teresa.
01:09To ensure that the project will continue,
01:12BFAR Mimaropa consulted the Department of Trade and Industry,
01:16Department of Science and Technology,
01:18and Occidental Mindoro State College as a guide in selling,
01:22training, and maintaining their products.
01:25According to Maheto de la Cruz Sr.,
01:27the project will help provide livelihoods to their members.
01:34The beneficiaries will first undergo a three-day training in fish cage culture and financial literacy
01:40before the project will be given to prepare them for its administration.
