00:17It appears from early indications the bus has collided with the rear of the semi-trailer
00:25as it went up a steep incline.
00:28The bus driver died at the scene.
00:30Greyhound Australia releasing a statement reading,
00:33We are heartbroken and our deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends.
00:38The service was travelling from Melbourne to Sydney via Canberra.
00:42Forty-two passengers were on board.
00:45Thirteen had to be taken to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
00:50Fast asleep and then just woke up to my head hitting the seat.
00:53I fractured my nose, a few bruises on my arms and my legs,
00:57and hands are all kind of cut up, but it could be a lot worse.
01:01Forensic crash investigators spent most of the day at the scene
01:05gathering evidence trying to determine exactly what happened.
01:09Police have revealed they have seized dash cam footage
01:12which will be examined by investigators.
01:14They are now pleading with drivers to be cautious on the roads in the coming days.
01:19At this point in time I say to all the drivers out there, take care at this time of year.
01:24There's just going to be more traffic on the road,
01:26they just need to beware, take more safe precautions.
01:29Local SES crews helped collect luggage and belongings from the bus,
01:33dropping the items off at hospital for those leaving after treatment.
