On Friday, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, the transitional government announced that as of this Sunday a state of emergency will be enforced throughout the country in an effort to contain criminal gangs.

00:18On that meeting, the National Security Council was created to tackle the unprecedented violence

00:24The meeting, led by transition president Leslie Voltaire, was attended by the Prime Minister

00:29Alex Didier Fils-Aime, who said that from December 9 to this date alone, over 200 people

00:35have been killed by gang violence.
