We visit a top league school in Shropshire complete with its own farm with goats.

Longlands Prm Sch in Market Drayton is celebrating after scoring well in the school league table, we meet the head the pupils and some goats.

00:16Longlands Primary School.

00:18Longlands Primary in Market Drayton.

00:20And you've got your own goat?

00:22You've got a little farm, haven't you?

00:24What other animals have you got here?

00:26We've got chickens, guinea pigs and rabbits.

00:28Wow, and what's your favourite out of all those?

00:30The goats.

00:32What's this goat called then?

00:34This is Leo.

00:36There's a little one somewhere and she's called Sheila.

00:38He's very friendly, Leo, isn't he?

00:40He's had a little treat just as well.

00:42So he looks lovely, he's got a lovely little beard like that.

00:44Do you know my class?

00:52So Miss, you're headteacher?

00:58So Miss, we're here because we're doing a special little piece

01:00because you've done particularly well in your league tables.

01:02Just fill us in on how you've got on.

01:04In the end of year six test for last year,

01:06we have come eighth in Shropshire

01:08so we're really proud of the achievement of the children

01:10and the hard work of the adults.

01:12That's great, isn't it?

01:14Did I feel something pecking at my leg then?

01:18Naughty little chicken.

01:20So what do you think about that, guys?

01:22You've done really well as a school, haven't you?

01:24Yeah.

01:34So I take it part of that reason,

01:36because you're going above and beyond.

01:38You can tell that from the animals.

01:40So we've got lots of opportunities.

01:42The children,

01:44they've all been brilliant learners

01:46but they also get the opportunity

01:48they come out to our farm,

01:50they come out to our forest school,

01:52and all of those opportunities

01:54help the children to develop in lots of different ways

01:56which means that by the end of year six

01:58they're making excellent progress in their learning

02:00because they're doing really well

02:02and how they feel about themselves as well.

02:06So what sort of things do you think you guys might like to go on and do

02:08when you leave school and you're an old man like me?

02:24I would like to be a teacher when I grow up.
