00:00Jobs saved at a Cheshire digital pharmacy business, a new flagship

00:04neighbourhood in Bradford, and funding for innovative companies. That's all

00:08coming up on today's Daily Business Briefing.

00:15So Dan, I'll start today's briefing with some really positive news because more

00:20than 80 jobs have been saved at Cheshire-based digital pharmacy

00:25business Remedy Solutions after it was acquired out of administration. So the

00:30company was founded in 2020 and it supplies prescription medication

00:35through a technology platform to care homes all across the country. Now in

00:38August the business actually handled the seventh highest number of prescription

00:41items in England, however it was placed into administration in December after

00:47some cash flow problems. So as a result of that Nick Harris and Lucinda Coleman

00:52of PKF Francis Clark were appointed as administrators, but now in a really

00:58positive mood Nadeem Sour, who's the founder of Flow Technologies, has

01:04acquired the business through his new company Remedy Healthcare. Now he wants

01:08to grow Remedy Healthcare into quite a big pharmacy business who's a leader in

01:13the care home market. Really good to see those jobs saved. I've also got a deal

01:19Outdoors at Home, which is a candle business based in Warwickshire, they've

01:22secured a £22,000 funding package from First Enterprise. The business,

01:27which was founded by Penelope Brown, creates candles using plant-based scents

01:30rather than synthetic fragrances. Each candle is designed to serve a

01:35practical function, so it could be like repelling insects or tackling the

01:39winter blues. They said they plan to use the funding to support the business in

01:43expanding their operations, increasing their online presence and bolstering

01:47their market efforts with events such as festivals and workshops. So it sounds

01:52like a good last-minute Christmas gift, if you're in need of one. Very last

01:56minute. What else has caught your eye? Well the creation of a flagship

02:00neighbourhood in Bradford has taken a significant step forward after the

02:05signing of a development agreement. So Bradford Council and ECF, now that's the

02:10partnership between Homes England, Legal & General and Muse, have signed the

02:14agreement and that will kick-start the first phase of what's going to be known

02:18as Bradford City Village. So the City Village aims to completely transform

02:22Bradford City Centre and it will include up to 1,000 homes alongside public parks

02:28and public spaces, as well as all of the things you'd expect, so kind of shops,

02:32restaurants, offices and cafes. Now Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe, she's the

02:37leader of the council, said the move was a really exciting step forward in

02:41creating a healthy, sustainable and friendly neighbourhood. That sounds like

02:45a really good scheme. I'm glad you've got a property story because I've got

02:48another deal for you. So Padpilot, which is a Gloucester-based provider of digital

02:53educational content for the aviation industry, they've received investment

02:56from Rose Street Partners. They were founded in 2011 and they offer knowledge

03:00ebooks and ground school resources for student pilots. They've said they're

03:05targeting global expansion following the investment and KBS Corporate also

03:09advised on the deal. As for Rose Street, they've now invested into three

03:12businesses since they were formed in 2023. So it's a nice way to cap off the

03:17year for them and of course with Padpilot. That's all from us. If you want to read
