00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has ordered the Justice Department to recommend the House Quad Committee

00:07to sue former President Rodrigo Duterte.

00:10Meanwhile, legal experts are studying the so-called clemency for Mary Jane Veloso.

00:18Kenneth Paciente is coming back.

00:22President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has already received the clemency of Mary Jane Veloso

00:27following his return to the country from Indonesia to serve his sentence.

00:32According to the President, although the Indonesian government did not give a condition for the transfer of Veloso,

00:38the government will have the legal experts to discuss his clemency.

00:44We still have to have a look at what their status is and of course we are aware of the request for clemency

00:52from our representatives and we will leave it to the legal judgment of our legal experts

01:07to determine whether the provision of clemency is appropriate.

01:15The President responded not to the recommendation of the Congress' Quad Committee

01:20Former President Rodrigo Duterte and others were sued because of the anti-illegal drug campaign

01:26which was initiated by the President and is now under the jurisdiction of the Justice Department.

01:30The recommendation of the Quad Committee is that when they do an oversight hearing,

01:39they will forward their findings to the DOJ with their own recommendations as to how to handle the findings in the hearings.

01:50So we will go now to the DOJ.

01:52Even so, the President said that this is still a long process,

01:55especially since he still needs to gather evidence for the case build-up.

01:59I will look into it. We still need to assess what the case might be,

02:06if the direction of the recommendation of the committees from the House is correct.

02:16The President shared his plan for this Christmas.

02:19He said that he will celebrate Christmas here in Manila with First Lady Luis Araneta Marcos.

02:24They also said that they plan to go to Baguio and visit Ilocos.

02:28Even so, even though it's Christmas, the work for the Chief Executive is still ongoing.

02:33I don't have off days.

02:35I'm not with them.

02:38We're not together on vacation, holidays, weekends. We're not together.

02:44We're always on call.
