00:23The government will now proceed with the legal process of filing a case against
00:30Vice President Sara Duterte in case the vice president who went to the Supreme Court is found guilty and brought to justice.
00:39In Pulong, Balitang, Malacanang, NBI Director Jaime Santiago said that
00:44the vice president was given 5 days to face the NBI and to be brought to justice.
00:51If the vice president will face the NBI,
00:54Santiago said that whatever evidence they have,
00:57that will be the document used in filing a particular case in the prosecution office.
01:02DOJ will decide if there is a probable cause for filing a case against the Vice President.
01:09From there, the so-called certainty of conviction will be established.
01:15We will proceed with whatever evidence we have.
01:21If there is a probable cause for filing a case, we will file it.
01:26And remember, if the investigating office filed a case, like NBI,
01:31it will be filed in the prosecution office.
01:36On the other hand, it is not impossible to face the case of sedition of the vice president
01:40after what has been said in the past against President Ferdinand Armacos Jr.
01:46DOJ Undersecretary Jesse Andres said that based on their initial investigation,
01:51there is a possibility that the Vice President may be convicted of sedition.
01:56Aside from this, Andres said that they will not remove the filing of other criminal cases
02:01against the Vice President who is more likely to be convicted of sedition.
02:04As of now, according to the DOJ official,
02:06cases of sedition and grave threat will be considered charges against the Vice President,
02:12but there is no determination about this yet.
02:15On the other hand, according to Prosecutor General Richard Fadulion,
02:18it is possible to file a complaint against the Vice President
02:21for violating the Certifications, Perjury, and Related Acts of the Disbarment Case.
02:29Sedition is a possibility.
02:31We are not closing our eyes on other possible criminal offenses even graver than sedition.
02:41Possibly disbarment case if there are grounds.
02:45That is what is being studied right now.
02:48DOJ is asking the Ombudsman to decide if the Vice President should be suspended
02:56from his post as Vice President
02:58while an investigation is being conducted against him
03:02for being a threat to the First Couple and the House Speaker.
