00:00Vice President Sara Duterte is not far from facing a case of sedition
00:05because of her statements against President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

00:16The government will now implement the legal procedure
00:19for filing a case against Vice President Sara Duterte
00:23even though it did not go through and was sent to the PINA.
00:28In a statement in Malacanang, NBI Director Jaime Santiago said
00:32that the Vice President had five days to face the NBI
00:38and to go to the PINA.
00:41If the Vice President will be able to face the NBI,
00:44Santiago said that whatever evidence they have,
00:48that will be the document used in filing a particular case in the prosecution office.
00:54The DOJ will be the one to decide if there is a probable cause for the allegations against the Vice President
01:01and from there, the so-called certainty of conviction will be determined.
01:05Whatever evidence we have, we will proceed with it.
01:09If there is a case that needs to be filed, we will file it.
01:14And remember, if the investigating office filed a case like NBI,
01:20it will be filed in the prosecution office.
01:22On the other hand, it is not impossible for the Vice President to face a case of sedition
01:27after what he has said in the past against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
01:33DOJ Undersecretary Jesse Andres said that based on their initial studies,
01:38there is a possibility that the second president of the Sedition could be sued.
01:43Aside from this, Andres said that he did not avoid filing other criminal cases against the second president
01:49that are heavier than the Sedition.
01:51As of now, according to the DOJ official, the cases of sedition and grave threat
01:56are the charges that are being considered against the Vice President, but there is no determination about this.
02:02On the other hand, according to Prosecutor General Richard Fadulion,
02:06it is possible for the Vice President to be sued for certifications perjury and related acts as well as disbarment case.
02:16Sedition is a possibility.
02:19We are not closing our eyes on other possible criminal offenses even graver than sedition,
02:29possibly disbarment case if there are grounds.
02:32So, that is what is being studied right now.
02:34DOJ has instructed the Ombudsman to decide if the second president should be suspended
02:42from his position as Vice President and this is while there is an investigation being conducted
02:48against the first couple and the House Speaker.
