00:00It was even more shocking when the Misa de Gallo erupted in Canlaon City, in the province of Negros Oriental.

00:07Because of the current situation there,

00:09following the eruption of the volcano Canlaon,

00:12the residents of Canlaon City prayed at the evacuation centers.

00:17This is Jesse Atienza of PTV Cebu.

00:22It is not uncommon for the weather to be cold in St. Joseph Parish.

00:28Whether inside or outside the church, everyone prayed.

00:33Candles and kogon leaves were lit in front of the bell tower.

00:40After the Misa, there was free coffee,

00:42food, and the local delicacy known as bichokoy was served for everyone.

00:49We witnessed a happy story.

00:53In the middle of the chaos,

00:54the volcano erupted again.

00:58Especially for Joy,

01:00her prayer this Christmas is for her fellow countrymen.

01:04Our prayers are that we will stay away from the threat of the volcano,

01:09the eruption of the volcano, and the safety of all evacuees.

01:13Because so far, in the opening of the evacuation camps,

01:18people are really stressed.

01:21They have anxieties that they are far from their families,

01:25that they are far from their livelihood.

01:27But at least, we pray for them that there is safety for everyone.

01:32The church prayed for all officials and personnel who helped

01:37so that everyone's safety is assured.

01:40May God strengthen our local officials,

01:45heeded by our mayor,

01:47and may God, all of us, bring us to conversion

01:52so that we'll be able to honor Him,

01:54glorify Him in His very own creation, Mother Earth.

01:58The next few days,

02:00here in the church, the members of Mount Canlaon will continue to pray

02:05for the safety and strength

02:08to continue to face the storm brought by Mount Canlaon.
