00:00So we're here at the Sutherland, formerly the White House, and hello sir, what's your name?
00:03My name's Martin, I'm Operations Manager for the Grill Pub Company.
00:07Fantastic looking place, you know, I've just come in and had a look around, it does kind of,
00:12it's so stylish. So it's undergone a bit of a renovation, it didn't used to look like this
00:17a couple of months ago. No, no, that's correct. So the Managing Director, Leon Burton, has spent,
00:24you know, just shy of a million pounds on transforming the White House Hotel,
00:29giving it a fresh new look. We've got rooms upstairs as well that we're hoping to open in
00:33the new year. So really put in fine dining on the map for for Moxton and Telford itself.
00:39Yeah, yeah, destination venue isn't it really? I mean when you look around this is, you know,
00:44it's worth traveling isn't it for a place like this? Absolutely, you know, even from, you know,
00:48the entrance and the car park in, we've had Water Fountain and we've got a, you know, a Koi Carp
00:52Fish Pond going on outside as well and the brand new Conservatory. So a lot of interesting social
00:58and eating spaces that, you know, will suit, you know, the elderly, middle-aged, all the young
01:05crabs coming in. Yeah. Putting our food hopefully all over Instagram and socials as well. So a lot
01:09of different spaces, big open fires, so really kind of putting ourselves out there on the map
01:16in terms of the fine dining experience. So how many rooms will you have in total when they kind
01:21of they all come on board? 27 eventually. We're hoping to open our first kind of batch, first 13
01:27or 14 rooms come the new year into January. Our builders have shifted upstairs now, so there's a
01:33few things going on and still some bodies on site making sure that they're ready and really the
01:41stylish sheet look we've got down here will just be echoed upstairs as well. Really,
01:46you know, luxurious accommodation available, you know, for locals and beyond. It's some lovely
01:52patterns and colours going on, isn't it? The deep rich greens, they really lend themselves well to
01:57this kind of a place. Yeah, yeah, you know, we've spent a lot of time and obviously a lot of money
02:01as well in terms of just getting it right and it's all about the detail. I come from an industry of
02:08managing private households and private jets etc. So, you know, for us it is all about the detail
02:13and the level of service and we're not we're not offering our service on an app and, you know,
02:17there's three people in the building, you know, we've got an experience management team, we've
02:21brought on locals, which some of we've retained from the White House as well. But, you know,
02:26experienced guys and girls that really know and have a passion for the industry and know what
02:32they're doing. So really putting all these kind of one percenters together and creating that
02:36that real kind of special experience. So is it all about the food or can people just pop in for a
02:42couple of drinks? The food is superb, we have a very extensive menu but, you know, we are welcoming,
02:47we've got one side of the restaurant just to serve those bar diners
02:54out in the conservatory as well. So we're welcoming everybody down, whether you're just
02:59coming for a casual drink after work or you're looking for a special occasion or family lunch,
03:03then we've got those spaces to cater for all kind of eventualities. Fantastic, well good
03:09luck in the venture. So it certainly looks amazing, so well done to you and the team.
03:13Thank you so much to Recruiting as well for those last little staff members as well, so anyone
03:18interested can find us either down here, give us a call or drop me an email. So it's the Rushton
03:26family? Yeah, the Rushton family. You having a little Christmas gathering? We only have one
03:32every couple of weeks. Oh do you? Oh that's nice, that's nice. Where have you come from then folks?
03:36Well, Sherry Fowles and there's St George's. Cool, so have you been in before when it was
03:42the White House? Yes. Now I never saw it as the White House, so I'm presuming it looks a bit
03:47different now. It's unrecognisable. I mean the White House was, when it first started. In its
03:53heyday it was lovely. It was really good, but it just went down and down. This is just another
03:58level. So did you know when you headed over here that it had a makeover? Oh yeah, I'm on
04:04your Facebook page. Well, what do you think? I mean, I think it's amazing.
04:17You've eaten as well then? Yeah. Cool, what did you have then? Seabass. Yeah, cool. And what about
04:22you guys? Yeah, that'll be me, the gammon, that's my staple. So yeah, you can put a thumbs up for
04:31the food as well then? Oh, absolutely. So it's not all style over substance, they can deliver as
04:36well on the table.
