00:00Even with no subsidy, PhilHealth assured it will be able to provide the benefits its members badly need from them.

00:07Meanwhile, a lawmaker warned the public about how and where they get their information from,

00:13especially in connection with the approved national budget.

00:54During today's hearing of the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability,

00:58PhilHealth President and Chief Executive Officer Emanuel Ledesma Jr. emphasized having sufficient funds,

01:04assuring an uninterrupted flow in services.

01:07As of October 2024, PhilHealth holds a surplus of P150 billion and a total reserve of P280 billion,

01:20complemented by an investment fund nearing P490 billion as of November 2024.

01:30These figures clearly demonstrate that PhilHealth is financially robust,

01:36well-positioned to sustain operations, and fully capable of addressing the health care needs of our 115 million members.

01:48The Department of Health, which oversees PhilHealth, also assured the continued operations of the agency,

01:53contrary to criticisms from some sectors.

01:56PhilHealth has a lot of money, more than the reserve fund ceiling approved by the law.

02:02Yesterday, the board approved a higher benefit and a budget for PhilHealth in 2025

02:12which recognizes that PhilHealth should spend more so that families can spend less.

02:35I believe in our version for the 2025 budget.

02:41The government and the country can be rest assured that the programs, the projects,

02:48and the policies to further push the country forward will be implemented well.

02:53House Assistant Majority Leader Jude Acidre also issued this warning.

03:03In an interview, Presidential Son and House Senior Deputy Majority Leader Sandro Marcos asserted

03:09his full support for the positions his father holds on issues on the budget.

03:13The President is my father. I support him in whatever he says and whatever he hopes to achieve.
