00:33in the field of the semiconductor industry.

00:36The semiconductor industry is an industry that produces computers and electronic devices.

00:42It is also the sector that focuses on the production of processing units,

00:46artificial intelligence, and data processing that are used in the changing times.

00:51On the courtesy call of the U.S. Semiconductor Industry Association in Malacanang,

00:56the President emphasized the importance of the cooperation of the two countries

01:01in the development and distribution of technology to the workers.

01:05The rapid development of technology cannot be stopped and it must be accompanied.

01:11The world is also facing the rising challenges in the digital space,

01:16such as the threat of cyber security.

01:18President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. promised that the semiconductor industry will be given more attention,

01:25just like the S.I.A. that spends US$500 million

01:31to help friendly countries like the Philippines in the exploitation of workers' talents.

01:3780% of global chip manufacturing is a member of the S.I.A.

01:42Last year, US$3.1 billion, or more than 23% of the total export of the Philippines by the semiconductor,

01:51was exported to North America.
