00:00The industry of halal foods continues to fluctuate,

00:04with revenue sales or earnings reaching Php 7.9 billion

00:08from export and local sales.

00:11This is part of what the Department of Trade and Industry

00:15shared in their interview with the Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon program.

00:18According to Alim Sidik-Gyapal,

00:21Program Manager, Industry Development and Investment Promotions Group of DTI,

00:25including products like food, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical products.

00:31These are included in the Halal Showcase and Forum,

00:34a program to promote Halal-Friendly Philippines.

00:38Local products are also promoted in countries like Saudi Arabia,

00:43Malaysia, and other Asian and Middle Eastern countries.

00:47At present, the country remains active in participating in regional and international expos.

00:54In addition, the support of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

00:59to the industry is a great help to expand the reach of Halal products

01:04in the world and other markets.

01:08Every product that we export, every product that we help,

01:12or every investment that we generate,

01:15it is always about the benefit that it would give to our farmers.

01:20It is also about the benefit that we give to our entrepreneurs,

01:25and especially to our workers.

01:27So, mission accomplished to generate more jobs and more investment in the Halal sector.
