00:00The Philippine Nuclear Research Institute, or PNRI, under the Department of Science and Technology, or DOSD,
00:06is establishing a nuclear medicine research and innovation center.
00:10With the help of nuclear medicine, it is expected to become more affordable and accessible,
00:14particularly for those in need, especially cancer patients.
00:17The center will play a significant role in early detection of cancer,
00:21which is increasingly prevalent in the country due to the lifestyle of many Filipinos.
00:26What we're trying to aim is to lower the cost of cancer diagnosis in the Philippines,
00:32because currently it is actually available in private hospitals, but it's actually very expensive.
00:39So we want to make it more affordable,
00:42so that many Filipinos can really benefit from the nuclear technology.
