00:00The European Union is providing 10.7 million euros or 655 million pesos to support the

00:06Philippines' climate mitigation efforts. The funding is part of the Climate Investor II fund

00:11which focuses on water, waste, and ocean infrastructure in developing countries.

00:16According to Philippine News Agency's report, a portion will fund a bioenergy facility in

00:21San Miguel Isabela set to begin construction in late 2025. The project includes a 10-megawatt

00:27biomass plant and a 4-megawatt biogas plant, reducing carbon emissions by 40,000 tons annually

00:34while generating renewable energy. The initiative tackles agricultural waste and promotes sustainable

00:39energy for local communities, aligning with the country's climate goals. EU and Dutch ambassadors

00:45emphasize the importance of public-private collaboration to build resilience against

00:49climate change.
