00:00Out of contract at the end of the season, it's a possible situation where they obviously
00:08haven't lost anything on his return due to the money they spent on him and his fantastic
00:15return in the few seasons he had for Everton. But it's no secret that those days are slightly
00:21past with the terms of the stats he's put out with injury as well, coming into it as
00:26well. So how do they go about him come the end of the season? Should they sell or could
00:32they use January to possibly attract some attention? What's the latest you can tell
00:36us on Calvert-Lewin?
00:37Well, as things stand, he'll be leaving the club for nothing at the end of the season.
00:42There's been a contract there that Dominic Calvert-Lewin has signed. He was obviously
00:47heavily linked to Newcastle last summer. That deal didn't get over the line. Yes, all things
00:55are pointing towards a departure at the end of his contract. There is a debate whether
01:02Everton should cash in in January then, because can Everton afford to lose a player on a free
01:09transfer when they could get, I don't know, what would he be worth in January? It depends
01:16on how much a club would need a striker, really, and who he would be willing to go to, because
01:22ultimately he could sign a pre-contract and move overseas anyway in January. So does he
01:28wait that one out? Sean Dight has said that he thinks that Dominic Calvert-Lewin's value
01:33is more important than what they could get in terms of a fee in January. Well, if he's
01:39not scoring goals and his performances, he was OK in the first half against Brentford
01:45in the 0-0 draw. But if his performances aren't matching his current values, then maybe
01:54Everton would have a decision to make. They've got Armando Brozier coming back. If he hits
02:00the ground running, they've got Youssef Chamiti who's come back as well. They've got Beto
02:05there. If Everton have options and they start firing, then maybe they do look at him. Because
02:11we potentially look to cash in, because it would be good for PSR rules. We know Everton
02:16have still got to meet those. I think it's going to be a disappointing ending to Dominic
02:23Calvert-Lewin's time at the club, but it's just not going in for him at the minute. And
02:27I think if an offer did come in, then Everton, or Sean Dight, could say he's more important
02:31than what the money is valued. But I think they would have to look at him, should we
02:40look to cash in, because they don't want a player in the second half of the season who's
02:45already maybe looking towards a new club and thinking, I don't want to get injured yet.
02:50I don't want to put my body on the line. I've got a new five-year deal lined up elsewhere.
02:54So that is something that Everton would definitely have to weigh up.
