QPAC has clarified that civil servants are required to declare their assets every five
00:06
years, a practice that will continue under the new public service remuneration system.
00:14
Its Secretary General, Abdul Rahman Nordin, said the legal department of each agency is
00:19
tasked with monitoring the declaration process.
00:24
He said a first and second warning letter would be issued if civil servants fail to
00:29
comply.
00:30
Yesterday, Subang MP Wang Chen called for Putrajaya to make asset declarations mandatory
00:36
for elected representatives.
00:39
He also said judges and members of the civil service should be required to declare their
00:44
assets to enhance transparency and inspire confidence.
00:49
Rahman expressed support for extending the requirement to elected representatives, saying
00:54
it would promote transparency and prevent slander.
00:59
