00:06years, a practice that will continue under the new public service remuneration system.
00:14Its Secretary General, Abdul Rahman Nordin, said the legal department of each agency is
00:19tasked with monitoring the declaration process.
00:24He said a first and second warning letter would be issued if civil servants fail to
00:29comply.
00:30Yesterday, Subang MP Wang Chen called for Putrajaya to make asset declarations mandatory
00:36for elected representatives.
00:39He also said judges and members of the civil service should be required to declare their
00:44assets to enhance transparency and inspire confidence.
00:49Rahman expressed support for extending the requirement to elected representatives, saying
00:54it would promote transparency and prevent slander.
00:59Civil servants are presently required to declare their assets to their heads of departments.
