00:00I'm starting to worry for baseball.

00:03This signing is not going to get done at the winter meetings and we're right back where

00:05we were.

00:06And I was pretty confident that this was going to be wrapped up at the winter meetings next

00:11week.

00:12In fairness, that's what Passon said.

00:13Yeah, they're going to have meetings this weekend.

00:16Teams are going to be eliminated.

00:17They're going to inform teams and then it's certainly going to be done by next week.

00:20I'm starting to have my doubts.

00:22And again, that's just a terrible, terrible thing for baseball because it clogs up the

00:26market.

00:27You have an opportunity to dominate to a degree as much as you can these days.

00:31The headlines with a flurry of free agent moves and Juan Soto headlining all of it and

00:37I'm starting to worry it's going to drag out past the winter meetings.

00:40I know a lot of you probably feel like it already is dragging.

00:43There's a bunch of news that's really a lack of news.

00:46It's no news.

00:47But I'm okay with that as long as it's wrapped up next week at the meetings.

00:50That's when the hot stove needs to happen.

00:51So the meetings end Thursday.

00:54You think Thursday we're going to be doing a show knowing who Juan Soto is?

00:58If you asked me this even two days ago, my answer would be absolutely.

01:01I'm not so sure.

01:02All the teams still think they're in it.

01:04So that's the other thing.

01:05It's like the news pretty early on was here are the teams that are in it.

01:10And then that we sort of dragged out.

01:11They're all meeting, you know, whatever.

01:13And you find out why the GM or the owner is or isn't meeting, but whatever.

01:17Those five teams kind of willed it down to five.

01:19Then a couple of days ago was, oh, they're going to let teams know that they're out of

01:24it.

01:25Right.

01:26I'm not even sure the teams have heard any of that.

01:28No, no, no, no, no.

01:29So we're still at five teams, Yankees, Mets, Blue Jays, Dodgers, Red Sox.

01:33That is where we started.

01:34And that's where we're at now.

01:35This is my fear.

01:36Spear wrote yesterday.

01:37The Red Sox haven't been told they're out.

01:38Okay.

01:39No team has been told that they're out yet, despite reporting that they would be.

01:43And the other thing that I'm leery about, and Spear also wrote this, teams feel like

01:50Steve Cohen is just waiting to Trump everybody's offer by $50 million, which I kind of buy.

01:55I think the Mets are going to wind up, if I had to pick who I think is going to end

01:57up with Soto, it's the Mets.

01:58It's an auction.

01:59But get the little paddles.

02:01That's what they should do on live TV.

02:02They should do an auction with five teams.

02:05I love it.

02:06And you have a really good auctioneer.

02:07I can't do it, but I got 600 auctioneer, an auctioneer, like the best in the business.

02:15And he rips through it.

02:16Then you have Steve Cohen just sitting there with a golden paddle, being like 800 million.
