00:14Fifty-year-old Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealth's insurance division, was shot from behind Wednesday

00:20morning in what authorities called a targeted attack.

00:24The masked assailant reportedly lay in wait near the Hilton on Sixth Avenue, where the

00:28company's annual investor conference was about to begin.

00:32At this time, every indication is that this was a premeditated, preplanned, targeted attack.

00:41On Thursday, police released a clear photo of the suspect, a day after sharing partially

00:46obscured images of him wearing a ski mask.

00:50Authorities are seeking the public's help in identifying and locating the man.

00:54CNN reported that police also searched a hostel on Manhattan's Upper West Side, where

00:59the suspect is believed to have stayed.

01:02The attacker fled on foot, later mounting an electric bike and escaping into Central

01:06Park.

01:08Investigators are still working to determine a motive.

01:10New York City's extensive surveillance network, built up significantly after the September

01:1511 attacks, is being used to track the suspect's movements.

01:19Thompson, a father of two, had been leading UnitedHealthcare, a division of UnitedHealth

01:25Group and the largest U.S. health insurer, since April 2021.
