00:00Subang MP Wong Chen believes it is unfair for Bursa to give the unity government a D-grade
00:07as the electoral reform group failed to consider the country's improved economic performance.
00:13In an interview with FMT, Wong said he would personally maintain the D for political reforms.
00:20So I would say the economics, we did probably a B plus, I would say.
00:23So if you combine these two, maybe a C.
00:27He also said it would be wrong to compare the administrations led by Prime Minister
00:30Anwar Ibrahim and his predecessor, Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
00:35Wong said this is because Pakatan Harapan's reform-minded MPs make up only 37% of the
00:41lower house, whereas Ismail's government had more MPs united on similar policies.
00:48Our partners that make up 67%, two-thirds majority, have no agenda of that sort.
00:53We've been fighting them for years, 25 years at least, PKR, so it takes time.
00:59In that context, it's difficult.
01:01In its report, Bursa said the D-grade reflected the unity government's limited progress
01:06in carrying out reforms and the gap between its rhetoric and action.
01:11It also said Ismail was a better prime minister than Anwar as he managed to push through reforms
01:15like equal allocations for all MPs via a memorandum of understanding with PH.
01:21To say that Ismail Sabri achieved a lot more than us in that one year, true, but then the
01:27political situation was such that he was able to do so because he had majority and we went
01:33and supported him.
