Ethan Ampadu's back from injury

Graham and Joe react to news that Ethan Ampadu is back in training on the Inside Elland Road podcast

00:00We know he's been ahead of schedule, Ampadu, but he's still rather unexpectedly dropped that,

00:09oh, by the way, Ethan Ampadu is back in full team training and he has been all week.

00:14It's like, all right, OK, that's very ahead of schedule.

00:18I think a lot of us were expecting him to be back playing in the new year,

00:24but with how many games there are over the Christmas period,

00:27I think it's six before the new year, you'd expect him to be back in the starting 11

00:32and settled by the time that 2025 rolls around, wouldn't you?

00:38Yeah, I think that's probably the situation that we're looking at.

00:42I think the most promising thing is that he's back in team training and he's shown that he

00:46can handle the load. There hasn't been a reaction or a setback. It seems to have all gone very,

00:53very well, touch wood. Farke saying that he would even consider involving Ampadu

01:04earlier than mid to late December is a very, very good sign.

01:09Let's wait and see for the weekend. I wonder if the weekend might just be a bit too soon,

01:12but even the fact that he might be on the bench in and around it, doing the warm-up

01:16and doing little bits at half-time, just getting back into the rhythm of a match day

01:22would be a boost for Leeds. Having him around the squad as the club captain,

01:25another leadership character, another voice, would be a good thing for Leeds.

01:30And then Farke can start to bring him in, can't he? He can give him five, ten minutes here,

01:34maybe increase it to 20 minutes, maybe get him half an hour and then he's knocking on the door,

01:40isn't he? And for me, as soon as he's ready to start, he starts.
