00:00Several civil society organizations, religious leaders, sectoral representatives, and some

00:06relatives of supposed victims of the war on drugs formally filed an impeachment complaint

00:11against Vice President Sara Duterte.

00:14Akbayan Party List Representative Percival Sendana endorsed the complaint and is supported

00:20by former Senator Laila de Lima.

00:22Among the grounds cited are culpable violation of the Constitution, graft and corruption,

00:28bribery, betrayal of public trust, and other high crimes.

00:32House Secretary General Velasco assured the complaint will go through the necessary processes

00:38and will be watched closely.

00:41It is crucial to underscore that addressing an impeachment complaint is not a discretionary

00:52act for the House of Representatives, but a constitutional obligation.

00:59The Constitution prescribes clear steps to ensure fairness and adherence to the rule

01:08of law.

01:09Accordingly, the House of Representatives will proceed with its duties on this matter,

01:17strictly adhering to the Constitution, its rules, the principles of due process.
